This is a simple and well made product. It can accommodate 5 standard seed trays which is far more than most propagators on the market other than one model that costs four times the price. The instructions suggest a thick covering of sand on top of the mat to conduct heat and absorb spilled water. Unless you are prepared to build a frame around the mat to contain the sand, this is an inconvenience and adds to the cost. I also added a cheap set of LED propagation lights from Amazon and I feel I’ve got a high capacity, relatively inexpensive propagation centre for this season’s vegetables. No more buying expensive ready grown plug-plants.

Works really well and I've raised lots of plants from seed this year using it. My only complaint is that the cable is too short, so you need your socket to be very close to the mat.

It is basic and that is what is easy and good about it, too many people are chucking the prices up on such a simple product just because they're unifying it with other items to make it seemingly specialist when it isn't really.

I bought this heatmat as a replacement,my old one having finally broken down after many years of sevice and having now used it for two months in my home made propagator, it has worked as well as I had hoped.I covered it in sand as suggested in the instructions and it has produced a very even temperature over all the surface of the sand.The thermostat has maintained the temperature that I set,20 Celsius, only varying between 18 and 21 degrees.I have produced lots of healthy young seedlings and plants for the coming garden season.I may also use it to over winter some of my more delicate plants as it seems quite cheap to run.Overall a very pleasing investment.

My thermostat went faulty after a few weeks. Contacted the seller and they provided a replacement without any issue. I was concerned i would loose some of my plants due to frost but they were quick to replace.
